3GPP Long Term Evolution (LTE), is the latest standard in the mobile network technology tree that produced the GSM/EDGE and UMTS/HSPA network technologies.

While the signs are that the next iPhone will not feature LTE, Apple has “reached consensus” with China Mobile on the use of the carrier’s forthcoming TDD-LTE network for a future iPhone.
China Mobile is the world’s largest operator with just under 600 million subscribers, according to Informa statistics
This is very positive news for AAPL

HIDDEN DANGERS - Danger Signs for the U.S from nuclear power plants

 HIDDEN DANGERS
In Japan Reactor Failings, Danger Signs for the U.S
TOKYO — Emergency vents that American officials have said would prevent devastating hydrogen explosions at nuclear plants in the United States were put to the test in Japan — and failed to work, according to experts and officials with the company that operates the crippled Fukushima Daiichi plant.
The failure of the vents calls into question the safety of similar nuclear power plants in the United States and Japan. After the venting failed at the Fukushima plant, the hydrogen gas fueled explosions that spewed radioactive materials into the atmosphere, reaching levels about 10 percent of estimated emissions at Chernobyl, according to Japan’s nuclear regulatory agency.

Why Solar Stocks now - LDK IPO and Fukushima lesson

News from today: Japan moves people beyond bigger Fukushima no-go zone

Residents have been moved further away from the crippled Fukushima nuclear plant as the no-go zone is extended and repair works are halted.

Japanese engineers have abandoned their latest attempt to stabilize a stricken reactor at the Fukushima plant.
The power plant was badly damaged by the earthquake and tsunami on 11 March.
A wider evacuation zone was decided upon last month as radiation levels were expected to increase, making the move necessary.
The towns are more than 30km from the Fukushima plant, which is continuing to leak radioactive material.
Japan is to reconsider plans to increase its reliance on nuclear power in the wake of the crisis at the Fukushima plant
More than 80,000 local residents living within a 20km radius of the plant have been evacuated from their homes.
Agriculture and businesses have been hit and there is no timescale yet for allowing residents to return, although a small group were allowed inside the no-go zone briefly on Tuesday to gather belongings.
Total compensation claims are not yet known, but analysts say they may be more than $100bn.
Nuclear plants currently supply about 30% of Japan's electricity.
Addressing a news conference: "The current basic energy policy envisages that over 50% of total electricity supply will come from nuclear power while more than 20% will come from renewable power in 2030," Mr Kan- Japan Prime Minister said.
According to UN:

Renewable Energy Could Power 80% of the World by 2050

Top hedge fund and mutual fund gurus like LRCX in the semiconductor equipment industry

3 out of 4 top hedge fund and mutual fund gurus like in the semiconductor equipment industry LRCX
Noticeably absent from the list of top sector holdings of hedge funds and mutual funds concentrated in the semiconductor equipment industry are the world's number one and two leading semiconductor equipment company, Applied Materials Inc. (AMAT) and Dutch manufacturer of lithography systems ASML Holding NV (ASML). At $18-20 billion each, together they account for 38% of the market capitalization of the entire sector, so it would be natural to expect both AMAT and ASML to be a core holding of top hedge funds and mutual funds
concentrated in the sector, so their absence is especially noteworthy.
One should also check influence of Fukushima crisis on the industry.
